Self-evaluation activities

Self-evaluation activities

Self-evaluation activities are conducted by an officially constituted and appointed Review Group (RG) within the Degree Programme. The RG members are chosen based on the two paths in which the Degree Course is divided. The composition of the RG also includes an administrative staff unit, shared with other Degree course, and a student representative. The current composition of the RG is as follows[1]:

Prof.  Giovanna Del Gobbo (Chair of the Study Course and head of Quality)

Prof. Francesca Torlone (Study Course Contact Person)

Prof.  Daniela Frison

Prof. Glenda Galeotti

Dr. Amneris Bonaiuti (labour representative)

Dr. Costanza Ulivi (labour representative)

Dr. Natalia Di Stefano (technical-administrative staff)

Student representative (pending student elections)

The RG Contact person coordinates the monitoring and evaluation activities of the Degree course and reports the outcomes to the Teaching Committee (TC) and to the Degree Programme Board, in order to discuss and approve them as required.

For some Quality indicators, the RG mainly uses data contained in the Annual Monitoring Report (SMA) produced by ANVUR, but also information from various offices (Presidency, teaching facilities, Polo, etc.) as well as information provided by SIAF (the IT services of the University of Florence) and the University Statistical Services Office.

The monitoring action conducted by the RG is always agreed upon and the results are shared within the Board on a regular basis and in compliance with the deadlines related to Re-examination activities, Joint Commission meetings, and the educational planning of the Degree course.

Based on the provisions of the SMA and on the requirements by the Joint Annual Report (SUA), the Degree Programme has planned the following schedule for the activities of the RG and the Degree course  Board. This schedule may be subject to changes based on specific needs identified by the President, the Review Group, or upon proposal of the Board.

March/May

Meeting of the RG and the Degree course Board to establish guidelines for designing teaching programmes, with special focus on the definition of objectives and expected learning outcomes, as well as learning verification and assessment methods. The purpose is to promote, through a tuning process, a better congruence between the general Degree programme educational objectives and the syllabuses of courses.

Possible discussion within the Degree course Board of the above issues in order to identify forms of incoming and outbound orientation.
